ICT @ Huntington began life in 1995 as the internal IT department of Huntington School in York - and then it grew up.
It succeeded in earning such big revenues from other schools that in 2002 it was registered as a limited company in its own right.
Because of its school beginnings, the organisation has a deep understanding about the education sector.
Now it is being considered for two categories in the 2004 Evening Press Business Awards - Small Business of the Year and Best Business And Education Link.
ICT @ Huntington prides itself on being a one-stop-shop that offers a wide range of IT solutions, software support services, training courses and computer equipment.
In 2001, it became a European Computer Driving Licence accredited test centre and recently became a licensed provider of Pitman typing, shorthand and book-keeping courses.
York's local education authority is a dedicated partner and, as a result, the company has worked for all 65 primary schools in York and a number of secondary schools in the city.
Beyond education, the company's growing York client list includes Nestl, Portasilo - part of the Portakabin group and the Shepherd Building Group
