I WAS dismayed to read of York Dungeon's plans to feature Satan's Grotto during December in which children will be invited to sign away their souls amidst scenes of robins being roasted over an open fire and elves impaled on spikes (November 20).
York Dungeon boss Helen Douglas claims this is not offensive to Christians. I disagree and I would urge all Christians who feel the same to write accordingly.
Christmas is the second most important Christian festival after Easter. Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Christ who came into the world to save humanity from Satan.
It beggars belief that Helen thinks celebrating Christmas with Satan's Grotto and inviting children to sign away their souls to Satan is not offensive to Christians.
I am not suggesting that Helen has deliberately set out to be offensive but I would urge her to change this plan while there is still time.
