I COMMEND Clive Booth, the Conservative parliamentary candidate for York, for organising and finding funding for a free coach trip last month for sixth form pupils and university students to Westminster, in order to visit the Houses of Parliament and various other political institutions.
In an age where young people feel increasingly distant and disregarded by politicians, it was refreshing that a prospective MP made the effort to attract young people on an educational trip and take the time to listen to their concerns and beliefs.
A lot of the people who went on the trip were clearly enthused. They look set to become actively involved with the political process, and quite possibly the Conservative campaign in York at the General Election.
