Man of the match Matty Gell scored four tries as a brilliant team show saw New Earswick All Blacks Amateur Rugby League Club U13s hammer Shawcross 48-18.

All Blacks went ahead early but Shawcross hit back thrice to lead 18-6 before the York side improved and scored 42 unanswered points.

Dan Perkins followed Gell with a hat-trick and was top tackler, while most improved player Nathan Tupman also crossed, as did Craig Richardson, with Perkins, Tupman and Richardson adding goals.

York Acorn U14s continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 42-8 thrashing of game Kippax.

Acorn opened the scoring with man of the match James Bromwich scoring from 60 yards out. The pack then took the game to the big Kippax forwards, with Ollie Hare and Jack Powell in fine form. There were tries for Nathan Potter (2), Thomas Wadsworth, Danny Lee and Kyle Illingworth.

Unbeaten New Earswick U12s gave their worst display of the season against a spoiling side from Harehills, yet still won 10-6.

Harehills took a shock lead when their centre went through three tackles to score under the posts and convert, but All Blacks reduced the deficit before half-time when loose-forward Joel Johnson sent centre Adam Johnson into the corner.

All Blacks raised their game and got the winner when Joel Johnson drove under the posts, Dean Layton goaling.

Man of the match Flannan Naismith scored all of Heworth U10s' points but was not able to rescue a below-par team display as his side lost 20-18 at Milford.

Most improved player was Liam Jackson while Ollie Murphy and William Barrett were top tacklers.
