STUDENTS at the Skills Centre, York, have been spending time at Nestl Rowntree in York experiencing the processes that convert cocoa beans into KitKats.
Over six weeks, the year 10 students saw the whole confectionery process, from the initial idea for a new product, through to the manufacturing process.
At the end of the course the students were shown how the product is manufactured, packaged and dispatched to our customers.
Darren Shipley, people developer at Nestl, said. "We wanted to give the students a real taste of what it is like to work in the confectionery business and try to provide them with as much experience as possible in just six weeks."
