YORK has been twinned with Dijon since the 1950s when the civic parties used to exchange visits ("Seeking Dijon", Letters, November 12).
There must be hundreds of people in York who have visited Dijon on an exchange basis when they were at school but sadly these visits ended some years ago due to lack of interest.
The York-Dijon Association was formed in 1976 to encourage further links with groups having similar interests and many of us have friends in Dijon with whom we stay and who also visit York.
I am astonished that your reader was unable to obtain any information at York Library as our website was created there some years ago, along with those of other leisure groups, and can easily be found on the Yortime website www.yortime.org.uk
