Noel Wilson, who trains on the outskirts of York, can scoop the honours at Southwell tomorrow by completing a double.

The Warthill-based handler has excellent prospects of hitting the target with Yenaled and Air Mail, two horses who were successful on the course last Wednesday.

Wilson, though, was credited with only the victory of Yenaled, as Air Mail scored for Melton Mowbray trainer Norma Macauley only to be claimed by Wilson after his success in the selling race.

Air Mail, who contests a similar event tomorrow, could produce quick dividends. He had a length to spare over Branston Tiger last week and the way he stayed on over seven furlongs that day, suggests that tomorrow's step up to a mile will suit him even better.

With Luke Fletcher again in the saddle, claiming a valuable 3lb, Air Mail can make a quick delivery for Wilson and is awarded my Nap vote.

Yenaled goes for the Littlewoods Bet Direct Handicap over eleven furlongs and bids to defy a 6lb penalty for his neck success last week over Shape Up.

The fact that the pair drew well clear of the remaining runners that day suggests the form is pretty solid, and the in-form Yenaled is fancied to follow-up. Donna Caldwell, who gets on well with the grey, again has the mount.

Also worth noting at Southwell is Sharp Hat, trained at Stillington by David Chapman.

This grand old campaigner knows his way around this track and his latest efforts suggest he is in good heart. He should not be overlooked in the opening division of the Bet Direct Football Cashbacks Handicap.

Hows That (12.40), who ran well at Southwell last week, and the promising Eskimo's Nest (1.10) are also worthy of attention.

Over the jumps at Sedgefield, Hambleton trainer Kevin Ryan can get punters off to a good start with Super Sammy in the York Handmade Brick Company Lady Riders'Handicap Hurdle.

The eight-year-old has a recent creditable comeback effort under her belt, which should stand her in excellent stead here. She will receive every assistance from Nina Carberry, an experienced rider from Ireland.

Nicky Richards, whose horses are in great heart and who sent out Turpin Green to win the final race at Aintree yesterday, is fancied to land the John Smith's Extra Smooth Mares' Only Maiden Hurdle.

A good second at Perth on her last appearance, Averse is returning from a summers' break, but Richards seldom sends out horses less than able to do themselves justice and punters can safely expect Averse to be fit enough after her lay-off.
