HARROGATE may have lost four on the trot with this 26-17 National Two reverse at Wharfedale but for long spells they excelled.

Twice Harrogate led in the first half but Wharfedale went to the break with a nine-point lead, a margin they never ceded.

Andy Boyle put the Claro Road side ahead before wing James Tapster scored a try. Prop Rob Wilson also crossed in the second half, Lee Cholewa converting. But they just could not peg the hosts back.
