YORK City Knights have bolstered their back-line options for 2005 by bringing Hunslet Hawks utility back Chris Ross to Huntington Stadium.
The 26-year-old can wear any shirt from one to seven, playing most of his recent career at either full-back or centre. He is also an adept goal-kicker, an ingredient the Knights have sought since Danny Brough's departure to Hull.
Knights chief executive Steve Ferres said: "He can fill a few roles and he can kick goals as well, which has been a missing part to the jigsaw.
"He's now got to force his way into the side as we've got good competition for places all around the field."
Ferres first signed Ross as a teenager ten years ago when he was in charge at the Hawks.
The player later moved to National League One side Doncaster - scoring a fine solo try for the Dragons against the Knights in one Arriva Trains Cup clash in the 2003 season, and being sent off for punching new team-mate Mark Cain in the return fixture before breaking a leg and, on his return to the game, rejoining hometown club Hunslet.
