Squeeze front man Glenn Tilbrook leads his latest band, The Fluffers, at Pocklington Arts Centre on Thursday evening (25th).

His November and December tour coincides with the release of the book Squeeze: Song By Song, written by Jim Drury in collaboration with the 47-year-old Tilbrook and Squeeze songwriting partner Chris Difford for publication this week by Sanctuary Publishing.

The book provides an insight into the life and times of Squeeze from their earliest beginnings in Blackheath, South London in 1973 to their final reunion album, Domino, in 1998.

Along the way the story uncovers the truth behind the inspired but often fractious Tilbrook/Difford partnership, the formation of the band and subsequent line-up changes, gruelling tours, successes, failures and rock'n'roll excesses.

Tilbrook's 18-date tour with The Fluffers opens on Monday, and he is sure to squeeze in old hits alongside selections from his second solo album, Transatlantic Ping Pong. Released by Quixotic Records last summer, the record has a laddish subject matter shot through a middle-age lens, not least on his hymn to insomnia, Hot Shaved Asian Teens.

Tickets for the 8pm show cost £15 on 01759 301547.
