OLD-TIMER Keith Potter spurred CB United on to a 3-3 draw against Wigginton Grasshoppers in division two of the York and District Sunday Afternoon Football League.
The 38-year-old's fast and furious pace set up a Dave Clayton brace after Jamie Metcalfe had earlier equalised. Grasshoppers drew level with a late Mitch double to share the points.
Drum FC struggled against new boys Melbourne, going down 5-1, while Shoulder of Mutton Reserves earned a point from a 2-2 draw at Dunnington.
Saville AV got off lightly against reigning division one champions Clifton despite incurring a 7-3 thumping.
Paul Beddows hit the back of the Saville net five times for Clifton, with Bill Allen and Danny Coombes completing a comprehensive score line.
AFC Huntington lost their 100 per cent record at home to a strong St John's College going down 5-3 but are still one point clear of Clifton at the top of division one.
Gimcrack are finding life hard in the first division after picking up an 11-0 thrashing at the hands of College of Law. Also struggling are Forest, who were hammered 6-1 by hosts Turf, while Cottage Inn conceded six without reply to Shoulder of Mutton.
