I AM incensed with the Leeman Road train washing and refuelling planning application (November 15).
Only a minority of the affected parties were officially notified. I live 100 metres from the site and I received no formal notification. I'm sure the noise and odours will easily carry that far.
And yet First Trans Pennine has been developing the depot plans for more than two years.
The depot would give rise to noise at annoyance levels 24/7, vibration, pollution and increased traffic for deliveries to the site on an already busy Leeman Road.
The Leeman Road area is being developed into a prime residential area and then they are thinking of putting an industrial business into the midst. All this, with the detrimental impact on house values for what? Thirty to forty low paid jobs.
