It must be frustrating sitting at a production desk when you want to grab a guitar and show these young upstarts a melody or two.
With this solo album, Broudie does just that. Having recently helped produce albums by The Coral and The Zutons, the former Lightning Seeds front man moves on to the next stage in his musical career.
These songs are sparse, satisfying affairs with acoustic guitars, banjos and pleasant harmonies. The lyrical title track and wistful ballad Smoke Rings are memorable - the remainder less so. For those with an electronic hangover, this album may prove a breath of fresh air.
