MAY I say how much I enjoyed The Wizard Of Oz at Rowntree Theatre recently.
The New Earswick Musical Society may be a smaller group but the casting by director Ann McCreadie made it a memorable show.
There was Carol Richardson's wicked witch, Alan Rome's tin man, and Steve Padfield's cowardly lion; and who would have guessed that Gareth Cheesman was making his debut as a scarecrow that stumbled all over the stage? It was a super show.
I only went to see my brother-in-law play the wizard, but I came out whistling all the tunes.
