BEN Jones put on a masterclass of rugby league as New Earswick All Blacks crushed Queensbury 'A' 52-14 at White Rose Avenue.

Man of the match Jones amassed a personal tally of 22 points from two tries and seven goals as All Blacks breezed to victory in Pennine League division two.

The match was effectively settled in the opening 20 minutes as All Blacks powered in to a 24-0 lead.

Jamie Rhodes grabbed the first try on five minutes and Chris Judge grabbed the second when he seized on a loose ball and went over under the posts.

Judge made the third try when his kick through saw full-back Paul Dooley score.

Jones, who had added the extras to all the tries, then produced a stunning solo score.

Queensbury reduced the arrears with a try but a great break by Nigel Wilson enabled Jo-Jo Hnesh to touchdown and Jones then stormed away from 50 yards for a try in the corner to make it 36-6 at the interval.

All Blacks were unable to maintain the intensity of their play in the second half and the visitors pulled another try back before Jones sent Judge scampering over.

Queensbury reduced the arrears to 42-14 with their third try but All Blacks finished on a high with Alan Pallister making a break for Robbie Beavers to score, Dooley adding the extra two points as Jones was off the pitch at that stage.

Judge then went 50 yards to complete his hat-trick and ensure that All Blacks stay right in the promotion picture.

A lack of self-control consigned Selby Warriors to an early Andrew Bennett Memorial Trophy exit after collapsing 38-16 to Thornton.

Warriors were 16-12 going into the turn-around but with Bryan Cooper sin-binned for querying a decision and Alan O'Driscoll sent off for dissent, Thornton shattered them with four quick tries.

Carl Bardauskas had earlier kept up his record of scoring in every game of the season and Wayne Fennell converted to level an early Thornton score, before Cooper crossed after a bizarre decision to kick on the first tackle.

Fennell chip-kicked and gathered for a great try but that was the last of Selby's points as they succumbed in the second half to the division four leaders.
