SUBSTITUTE Liam Salt added plenty of spice to Pickering Town's attack as his second half hat-trick sank Parkgate 4-1 in the second round of the Northern Counties East League Cup.
Central defender Michael McNaughton had put the Pikes ahead at the Recreation Ground after only four minutes.
New signing Joe Gaughan went off injured but his replacement, Salt, produced an exhibition of clinical finishing to put the Pikes 4-0 up before Brian Cusworth's late consolation effort for Parkgate.

Tadcaster Albion have got a replay to negotiate against Gedling Town after Andy Jackson's late equaliser snatched a 1-1 draw. Gedling had taken the lead in the 55th-minute with a goal from Phil Massingham.
Selby Town moved into the third round after an emphatic 6-2 demolition of first division side Rossington Main at Flaxley Road.
The Robins were soon on top and took the lead after eight minutes when Adam Wash netted, but Rossington were level only three minutes later when James Walker headed in.
Selby regained the lead in the 15th minute when Jason Harris fired in a powerful shot after a good run.
The Robins went further in front when Matthew Wain headed in from a Cameron Stuart free-kick.
Two minutes later they scored again, Harris impudently back-heeling the ball home following a goalmouth scramble.
Selby continued to dominate the game in the second half and a good turn and cross by Stuart was well finished by Wash in the 53rd minute.
In the 62nd minute Wash completed his hat-trick when he beat the offside trap to race clear and calmly round the 'keeper.
The Doncaster side pulled a goal back through Stuart Laidlaw.
Selby are in league action at Flaxley Road tomorrow (kick-off 7.45pm) when Borrowash Victoria are the visitors.
Goole won 2-0 at Lincoln Moorlands with goals from Graham Whitehead and Gary Shaw.
