CELEBRATIONS are under way at the Evening Press after senior graphic designer Lisa Cook won her sixth successive award at the Yorkshire Press Awards.
Lisa's double hat-trick as Graphics Designer Of The Year is testament to eight years' hard work with the Evening Press.
She travelled to the Cedar Court Hotel in Wakefield to receive her glass trophy and a cheque for £150.
Lisa, 33, said: "I didn't think I could win it for a sixth year, but I did and I'm thrilled.
"The last few months have been challenging, working on the design of the new compact Evening Press and big stories like the double murders this summer. So I've already got plenty of work to enter next year."
Her pledge to enter next year's awards is sure to strike fear into the hearts of any would-be challengers to her title.
In their comments, the awards' judges said of Lisa: "This graphic designer just gets better. A credit to her profession and her newspaper, Lisa Cook is unrivalled in her field. Knowing she would be aiming to retain her title for a sixth year seems to have put the fear of God into others, and they gave up the battle without a single fight."
