York City forward Andy Bishop made his international debut for the England National Game XI under-23 side yesterday - while the Minstermen's star goalkeeper David Stockdale had to watch from the bench.
The England side beat their Italian counterparts 1-0 at Serie 'C' stadium Ivrea with Bishop (pictured left) starting along with Scarborough skipper Scott Kerr.
Stockdale, however, had to watch Nikki Bull of Aldershot Town in the England goal from the bench.
The win was sealed by a first half header from Barnet's Simon King and avenged a 4-1 defeat at Shrewsbury earlier this year.
