LADY luck was not with York City Schools' Under 12 footballers as they lost 3-1 against Nottingham.
York hit the woodwork three times and created several chances.
Matthew Dale netted York's goal with a left foot shot in to the bottom corner.
Adam Thornton drew an outstanding save from the Nottingham goalkeeper and James Edmond rattled the bar with the rebound.
Their next match is at Derby on Saturday, November 20.
York U11s were in sparkling form, demolishing their Nottingham counterparts 7-1 at York Sixth Form College.
Jacob McCormick fired York ahead from 25 yards and Jacob Gore doubled the lead with another long-range drive.
Gore converted Alex Needham's cross before an own goal gifted York their fourth goal.
Nottingham pulled a goal back from the penalty spot but the home side bounced right back with two Needham goals.
The final goal came when Conor Qualter delivered a cross from the right and Sam Byram headed in.
York will look to continue their fine run when they entertain Wakefield in the Yorkshire Cup at York RI's New Lane ground on Saturday (10.30am). Matt Gore is taking charge of the team in manager Ian Hutchinson's absence.
