City Clubman of the year 2002-03
June 2003: Appointed player-manager - aged 27, the youngest in the Football
League at the time.
August 2003: Sent off on debut as player-manager at Carlisle where City won 2-1. Further victories against Northampton, Huddersfield and Southend gave City their best-ever start to a League season.
January 2004: With City in 10th place in Division Three and seemingly safe, Brass and player-coach Lee Nogan are given three year contracts.
May 2004: After failing to win any of their last 20 matches City lose their Football League status after 72 years' membership.
November 2004: After a 3-1 home defeat at the hands of struggling Forest Green Rovers, City slide to 18th place in the Nationwide Conference and Brass is sacked after a run of just four victories in 37 games.
