REGARDING your article "York residents rap firework display" (November 3) and Mrs Simpson's letter "Quiet please" (November 4).
While I agree that some warning should have been given, this was an organised firework display that had been agreed by the council, and the fireworks were detonated in a controlled environment, although it was after 10pm.
If residents must complain, how about complaining about the fireworks that go off at all times day and night for the whole of October and November, which aren't organised and are set off just too annoy people and frighten animals.
