The final day of the Flat turf season tomorrow offers the opportunity to see out the campaign with a bang.
My sporting suggestion is to take a chance on 25-1 shot Another Choice in the big race at Doncaster.
Trained by Nick Littmoden at Newmarket and the mount of ace Irish rider Pat Cosgrave, Another Choice is consistent, likes soft ground, and is at the right end of the weights in the Tote-sponsored November Handicap.
Furthermore, he is a three-year-old, an age-group which tendd to do well in this annual end-of-term race.
A slightly unlucky neck second to Double Deputy over ten furlongs here last month, Another Choice promises to be even more at home over this extra two furlongs and certainly has better prospects than his current odds might indicate.
Ryedale stables are strongly represented, most notably by Brian Ellison, who saddles the top-weight Artistic Style, a prolific winner this season, and Carte Diamond, a recent £100,000 purchase out of Mark Johnston's stable, while Tim Easterby runs the in-form duo of Go Tech and Jeepstar.
But Another Choice is my idea of a value-for-money wager and he is awarded the Nap vote to triumph in this tricky event.
Stillington trainer David Chapman has good prospects of landing the totescoop6 Wentworth Stakes with Quito, who should get the fast gallop he requires over this six furlongs. Watch out for Tony Culhane delivering him late on the scene.
The lightly-raced, but useful, Baboosh can land the third Listed race on the card, the Gillies Fillies' Stakes, while Zomerlust, trained by John Quinn, has plenty going for him in the totesport.com Nursery.
At Wincanton, Rigmarole will have plenty of support in the £50,000 totesport Elite Hurdle. Trained by the in-form Paul Nicholls, this classy gelding was an easy winner at Kempton a fortnight ago.
