WITH most clubs involved in York FA Cup competitions there were only a handful of John Smith's York Sunday Morning Football League matches.
Wigginton Grasshoppers took a 2-0 lead at bottom club Pocklington through Jamie Seal and Dominic Graham in the only first division game.
Grasshoppers had themselves to blame for not doubling their tally before the break. Danny Bonham gave the home side hope when he pulled one back and then swooped to ram home an equaliser.
Wigginton almost grabbed all three points when Coates struck a post with two minutes left.
Shipton pulled themselves three points clear at the top of division two with a 3-2 home win against Burnholme (Earswick). Blake (2) and Myers were on target with John Thornton netting both for the visitors.
Bradley (2) and Thompson netted in a ten-minute spell just after half-time as York Nomads beat Hemingbrough 3-1, Collins netting for 'Boro.
Shooter hit six goals for Real Way Station for the second successive week, this time in a 10-3 win over Beeswing. Collier and Moore also scored twice each for Real.
Medley, Whatlin, Thirlway and Bulmer were on target as Castle Howard Ox won 4-2 at Poppleton Road WMC, whose goals came from Scott Dickenson.
Thomas' Hotel moved back to the top of division five with an 11-0 demolition of Pocklington Rangers. Smith, Moffatt and Scott helped themselves to hat-tricks with Dear and Czartowski completing the rout. Rangers' goalkeeper Holmes was in inspired form and managed to keep the score down.
Stephan Dzuirinski scored twice for Raskelf but Parker (2) and Dogan (penalty) responded for CPP.
