HERE is the way that some lucky people in York will chill out after a moving experience.
An unusual deal has been struck between Viking Removal Services in James Street, York, and Courtneys fitness centre in Monks Cross.
From December 1, everyone who hires the removal firm either to move to York, or within the city, will get a free month's membership at Courtneys, worth £35, as a way of smoothing their furrowed brows, after what is recognised as one of the most stressful activities in life.
They will be able to "chill out" by taking advantage of free entry to Courtneys' Water World wave pool, relaxing in a sauna, spa bath, steam room or de-stressing at workout classes. After all, riding an exercise bike which goes nowhere is so much more relaxing than moving home.
The idea for the link-up came from Sue Imeson who has just joined Viking Removal Services as office manager having previously worked for - you guessed it - the sales team at Courtneys.
Both her new boss, Ian Shore, and Rachel Thompson, sales and marketing manager at Courtneys, thought it was a great idea.
"So we got on our bikes," quipped Ian.
