The general manager of Harrogate's oldest hotel will put his leadership skills and powers of inspiration to an unusual challenge tomorrow.
Simon Cotton, of Cedar Court Hotel, will lead a team of ambitious Year Ten pupils in the Yorkshire regional heat of The LionHeart Challenge, a national flagship programme from the Learning & Skills Council to mark Enterprise Week.
The challenge will be hosted by the Cedar Court Hotel and, as a "team facilitator", Simon will mentor and inspire one of eight teams of pupils from across North Yorkshire, who will have one working day to complete a series of in-depth tasks, such as compiling a mini business plan and providing a virtual IT mock-up which communicates their idea.
The event will be all the more exciting because the theme of the challenge will be kept completely under wraps until the starter whistle.
Simon said: "As a naturally competitive person, I'm delighted to lend my support to The LionHeart Challenge in this way, and I am looking forward to motivating my team throughout the day.
"I've every confidence that they'll triumph!"
The winning team will represent the region at The LionHeart Challenge National Finals - to be held on Tuesday, November 16, at the Palace of Westminster.
