I WOULD like to add some words of support for our MP John Grogan following your article written by Dan Jones ("MP irritated after being dubbed 'fat cat'", October 25).
In my experience of life, the saying 'you get what you pay for' is very true. Would voters prefer a cut-price MP with performance to match, or the one we have who his constituents know works tirelessly on their behalf?
From personal experience, John Grogan was pivotal in our success in relocating O2's phone mast to a more suitable location in Heslington Lane, rescheduling his commitments to journey from London to speak at our planning meeting.
Then without so much as a drink, photo opportunity or to bask in reflected glory, it was back to the station on foot and on to his next appointment.
He is neither fat nor a cat as his constituents will testify. He is a man of principal.
We must remember, however, that this article did originate in the Sunday Express. Nuff said!
