SEVENTEEN-YEAR-OLD Nick Bennett was Pocklington's hero with an immaculate kicking display to give his side a 19-9 Yorkshire Two victory over North Ribblesdale at Percy Road.
Pocklington had to make three changes to their selected side due to injury, including Bennett moving to fly-half in place of regular No 10 Kevin Bowling.
But he gave a nerveless display to kick five goals from five attempts to be the main difference between the sides who fought out a good old-fashioned tussle.
Bennett kicked his first two penalties to one by Ribblesdale then Pocklington accepted a gift score when the visitors made a mess of a kick to the corner and presented the ball back for home scrum-half Sam Rees to go under the posts for Bennett to convert.
Ribblesdale came back strongly through their battering ram tactics and kicked a penalty either side of the interval.
Though they spent half an hour on the attack, Pock's defence was exemplary as they absorbed everything Ribblesdale could throw at them.
They lifted the siege with a couple of well judged box-kicks from Rees and Bennett stepped up to seal victory with two 37-yard penalties from either side of the pitch.
