A WELL DRILLED Barnsley side were good value for their 28-5 Yorkshire Three victory at York RI.
The New Laners were without No 8 Nathan Ashman, goal-kicker Matthew Yates and scrum-half Gareth Nicoll.
Robin Grice switched to scrum-half to link up with stand-off Tom Heslop, but the South Yorkshire side notched two converted tries for a 14-5 interval lead.
RI's score came from flanker Garrett Mallon. Barnsley added a couple more tries and three penalties in the second half.
