Top Irish trainer Aidan O'Brien, who has suffered more than his share of reverses in Britain this season, can help to put the record straight at Doncaster tomorrow by clinching the final Group 1 race of the campaign.
The Tipperary maestro saddles two of the eight runners in the £200,000 Racing Post Trophy and is napped to clinch the honours with Albert Hall, the mount of stable-jockey Jamie Spencer.
Narrowly denied on his debut in a maiden race at The Curragh, Albert Hall made no mistake when upped to tomorrow's trip of a mile on the same course in the Group 2 Beresford Stakes next time.
He showed a good attitude that day to battle home half-a-length clear of Merger, looking every inch like a horse who would improve further for the experience.
Albert Hall will be bidding to give O'Brien his fifth win in this race in eight years.
Motivator, the mount of Kieren Fallon, is favourite in the betting.
A runaway winner of his only start, a maiden race at Newmarket ten weeks ago, Motivator is highly regarded by trainer Michael Bell.
He might well be a potentially high-class colt, but for the moment it is reputation and not evidence that is driving him into the forefront of attention and I think that Albert Hall will take the trophy tomorrow.
Tomorrow's Tips:
