STUDENTS turned teacher for the day to give Vale of York MP Anne McIntosh training in a new profession.
She was given a short demonstration in technical installation by trainee electricians at the Conservative Party conference in Brighton.
The demonstration was set up courtesy of the Learning and Skills Council, which arranged for apprentices to give MPs the taster sessions.
Ms McIntosh said: "Learning from an apprentice is a great way of seeing just how much experience is gained during on-the-job training. Apprentices can bring real benefits to our local economy in York and North Yorkshire, and I encourage local businesses to get on board."
Teacher for the day Neil Smith, a trainee electrician, said: "I hope it helps them understand how hard we apprentices work to become fully qualified."
