I WOULD like to take this opportunity to thank every one of the 140 ex-pupils and teachers of Haxby Road Primary School who visited the school earlier this month.
We had two great afternoons where the smell of nostalgia was firmly in the air. Stories of past teachers, pupils and things children got up to (not all good!) were recorded with glee by our Year Six.
Because of the change of dates of these celebrations, due to OFSTED arriving in the summer, some people who wanted to come were not able to. I would like to invite such people to visit the school and I will guarantee them a tour with refreshments if they so wish.
All the centenary resources are still here and can be accessed at any time, including some very flattering ones of Middlesbrough manager Steve McClaren.
So thank you again to all who attended. The school seems to have stood the test of time and looks forward to its second century in such positive mood.
Nick Long,
Head teacher,
Haxby Road Primary School,
York.
