Selby cruised into the third round of the Intermediate Cup (North) with a comprehensive 46-14 win over fellow Yorkshire 1 League side Yarnbury.
Exhilarating back play, supported admirably by the forwards, saw Selby 41-0 up by the hour and the highlight of the display was a four-try performance from centre Shaun Austerfield, who has now scored 11 tries in his last five appearances.
It took just five minutes for Austerfield to start his blitz, Dan Porter converting.
Austerfield increased the lead with his second try in the 16th minute, after Selby stole the ball at the tackle, Porter again converting.
Winger Porter was next to cross again after hooker Shane Sellers stole the ball at the tackle. Only three minutes later Selby moved further ahead with the try of the match when second row duo Jason Cicero and Mark Rollinson made massive inroads in the Yarnbury defence to release Andy Gabel. His searing run yielded his fourth try of the season, Porter adding the extras.
Four minutes before half-time Austerfield unselfishly put winger Rich Topping in at the corner for his first try of term.
The hosts weathered early second half pressure from Yarnbury before stand off Simon Hall barged his way over.
Topping returned the favour to feed Austerfield who raced the other half of the pitch to touch down for his third try.
Yarnbury finally scored through Steven Galbraith, who added the extras. But Austerfield was not finished, bagging his fourth try of the game before Galbraith bagged his second converted try.
