SO two fine and healthy copper beech trees have been felled at Connaught Court because a report accepted by City of York Council erroneously claimed the trees were structurally unsound and a potential threat to residents.
In the light of recent events on the wider political stage, will members of the council now apologise for the inaccuracy of the information on which they based their decision, or will they claim that although they posed no present threat, the trees could have become rotten at some unspecified time in the future?
Or will they say sorry for having made the wrong decision in felling these trees?
