AN interesting and timely feature by Stephen Lewis on the pensions crisis, and good to hear the views of Age Concern and the Older Peoples Assembly (October 12).
Just one observation: in considering the higher taxes option, the discussion focused purely on raising the basic rate of income tax paid by everyone.
This is neither the only nor the best route.
Why not instead put a couple of pence on tax paid by multinational corporations on their multi-billion-pound profits?
After all, pensioners helped create those profits throughout their working lives: aren't they entitled to a bit back?
