Pupils' music to accompany films
MUSIC students from three York secondary schools will be gathering to share their work at the National Centre for Early Music.
Year Ten music GCSE students from Lowfields, All Saints' and Manor schools will be at the National Centre for Early Music, in York, on Friday at 1.15pm.
They have composed soundtracks using a variety of digital technology to accompany three video installations from the Hylo exhibition at the Impressions Gallery in Castlegate.
Web surfing prize
INTERNET-savvy children from York and North Yorkshire could be in line to win a computer for their school.
BT is calling on family members to nominate children aged between eight and 14 for the Internet Rangers of the Year Award, to highlight those who have helped change an adult's life by teaching them how to use the internet. A panel of judges will select six winners from across the country.
A flavour of work
SCHOOLS in York and North Yorkshire are being invited to attend an event which gives children a flavour of life in the workplace.
Skillsfest is due to take place on December 1 and 2, at the Yorkshire events Centre on the Great Yorkshire Showground, in Harrogate.

Orchestra to solo
EASINGWOLD Secondary School will be holding an Autumn Concert on October 21 at 7.30pm.
The senior orchestra, concert band, senior and Year 7 choirs will all be taking part as well as some solo and small groups. Tickets are available from the school in advance priced £3, and £2 for concessions.
The art of speed
KIDS and families will be able to make their own art work on a large scale at the National Railway Museum in York this weekend.
The NRM is hosting What's the Colour of Speed as part of Family Learning Week. The event runs from 10am to 4pm and is free.
