THESE trees were supposedly cut down for safety reasons, but the trunk of one of the trees can be clearly seen to have no rot in it.
Upper branches may well have had some dead limbs, but this is quite normal for an old tree, and anybody who has custody over such trees (as I have in another part of the original estate) knows that periodic trimming is quite normal.
This was the recommendation of the first tree surgeon who examined them, but was apparently not the answer the developers were looking for.
Hence a second opinion was obtained which condemned the trees to be cut down.
