FORMER York City defender Andy McMillan made his debut for Haxby Town last night in the Leeper Hare York and District League premier division.

His experience proved vital as Haxby notched up their second successive win, winning 3-2 at Malton and Old Malton.

A mistake by the home goalkeeper gifted Dave Thompson gifted Haxby the opening goal and a Mark Scoreby header extended the visitors' lead. Goals from Neil Wilford amd Heath Brown brought Malton level but substitute Jamie Pulleyn snatched the winner just two minutes from time.

Bishopthorpe registered their first win of the season as they beat T & L Selby 2-1 but they needed a huge slice of luck before collecting their first points haul of the campaign. Steve Purdy opened the scoring and midway through the second half Joe Garnham fed Gregg Fitzsmaurice whose shot was going wide before the Selby keeper turned the ball into his own net.

A Craig Hewitt header pulled one back for the Selby side and though they camped in the Bishopthorpe box for the final minutes the home side held out.

Dringhouses beat visiting Copmanthorpe 6-3, despite a hat-trick from former York City winger Kieran Darlow for Cop.

Both sides converted penalties in the opening quarter, Craig McShane levelling for the hosts before a brace from John Lake, a powerful header from Laverack and goals from Woodward and Craig Atkinson put Dringhouses in control.

Wigginton Grasshoppers got off the mark with a 4-0 win at Kartiers.

Paul Dicks headed the opener before the Coates brothers got on the score sheet - Tom intercepting a sloppy back-pass before Ben converted a penalty. James Vine wrapped up the game ten minutes from time.

Pocklington's Charlie Bond scored the only goal at Wigginton Black Horse eight minutes from time in a game.

Osbaldwick found Dunnington's Chris Burgess in scintillating form as he helped himself to a hat-trick in a 6-1 win. His third was the pick of the bunch, a 25-yard screamer zipping into the top corner.

The visitors pulled a goal back through Robertson before Andy Rose, Richard Dalby and Mike Walker completed the scoring for Dunnington.

Burgess's hat-trick was the fifth in the premier division this season after only 20 games.
