British Sugar and Acomb brought the curtain down on the York Vale Evening League in a title-deciding play-off at Copmanthorpe, Sugar taking the spoils on a wet night.
Acomb batting through their 18 overs to reach 93-4, P Mitchell leading the way with 22 not out.
Towards the end of Acomb's innings the match again looked to be threatened by the weather but the rain eased as British Sugar came out to start their reply.
In the early stages it looked to be going Acomb's way as they took wickets at regular intervals and Sugar struggled to build a partnership.
But A Northfield put the innings back on an even keel with 24 before being bowled as he attempted to maximise his score before retiring. Conditions became increasingly damp and gloomy but by the time G Botterill retired unbeaten on 25, British Sugar were well on the way to their target, which they reached in the 15th over.
