HOWDEN Arms top the York Phoenix League division one table after a 7-2 win against Cygnet.
Andy Edkins gamed in 20 and was well supported by Chris Wilson. Paul Lane was Cygnet's best player with three ton plus scores.
Bay Horse fell against Volunteer in a match which saw Paul Botterill hitting the big finishes. He hit 111 for a superb 15 darts, then followed up with a 103 outshot in his pairs. Daz Gray gamed on 115 or 21 and Mark Fratson hit a maximum on his way to a 20-darter. Paul Cooper gamed in 20 for Bay Horse.
A bull finish from John Smith wrapped up an 8-1 win for Phoenix against Crescent whose only winner was Jamie Radford.
Pack won the basement battle against Woodman, whose Tony Raymond hit the scores to salvage the aggregate.
Phoenix had Nick Harteveld out in a fine 19 darts in their re-arranged match against Howden Arms. Jim Wallis was out in 21 and a 180 from John Smith enabled Phoenix to win 7-2.
In division two, Huntington 'B' lead the way after a 7-2 victory over Victoria Vaults. Mark White (180) and Keith Elliott (80 finish) shone for Huntington.
Woolpack recorded a narrow win over Yearsley, who had ton scores from Dave Johnson to save the aggregate. Leeman went down to Jackdaw.
A fine 20-darter from Bo Rochester saw Reindeer consolidate their second spot in division three. Hard on Reindeer's heels are Edinburgh Arms who took the points at Mount 'B'. Clarence skittled Bowls Club 7-2 to move off the bottom.
Would all teams play their outstanding games as soon as possible. Entries for the winter season are now being accepted.
Chris Thompson hit a 180 for a fantastic 15 darts for Sun 'A' against Crescent in York John Smith's Men's League division one.
He then partnered Tony Cooper (180) to take the decider in an equally impressive 23 darts. Crescent captain Rich Plummer gamed in 18 then joined Ron Simpson for a 25 dart 701.
Heath Scaife (17) led leaders Shepherd 'A' to a 7-2 win at Mitre, while Ray McInally (18) helped Poacher to the match points at Cue Ball with a good victory from Stewart Scott-Steve Thompson to save the aggregate by just two points.
Martyn Turner-Martin Waddington were the match winners as Clifton 'A' beat Swan 6-3. Garry O'Reagan was outstanding for Golden Slipper as they overran Dringhouses 8-1.
Mark Miller (21) and Craig Wedge led the attack as Cygnet 'B' beat close division two rivals Rose & Crown 6-3.
Matthew Mooring and Derek Adamson were Osbaldwick's top marksmen as they demolished Institute 8-1, while Phil Smith set Slip Inn on the road to a 6-3 win at Flag 'A'.
Shepherd 'B' stayed top of division three with a 7-2 win over Fox Inn. Mick 'Spike' Renshaw (21) partnered Jamie Day to win the match for St Clements in a 6-3 win at Clifton 'C'.
Steve Church-Phil Taylor were the match winners for Sun 'B' in a 6-3 win against Fulfordgate, however, an excellent wide margin win from Alan Preston rescued the aggregate for Fulfordgate.
Dave Dobson-Pete Cox took the decider for Flag 'B' in a close game at Bootham Tavern.
