Having launched its recent mission to Mercury I suggest NASA is warned to be on the look out for IFO's (Identified Flying Objects) coming back from various planets in our solar system or beyond.
The most recent landing has been by Councillor Christian Vassie. He obviously comes from a very distant planet, with his most recent piece of gobbledegook ('Charges helping to beat global warming', August 4).
So the outrageous parking charges in York are "helping to beat Global Warming". I suggest Coun Vassie spends a little time with his head in a book instead of up somewhere else.
It is a well-publicised fact that the motor car - or the millions of motor cars on the road account for less than five per cent of the effects of global warming, especially now that we have 'low sulphur unleaded', 'low sulphur diesel', 'city diesel', 'AutoGas', and many other low-polluting substances in our vehicles.
Maybe your rocket is adding to global warming Coun Vassie, but our motor cars are not.
I also see that Coun Galloway says the emergency services will be consulted about access difficulties as part of the review. I thought that he said the emergency services had already been consulted and that theirs was the greatest reason for the implementation of yellow lines etc.
Please let's have some intelligence from our elected representatives or else they can get back in their rockets and blast off back to those far away places.
