I WAS interested to read that Phil Willis MP is taking up the case of Sky Digital TV viewers who find themselves unable to receive Yorkshire TV and BBC transmissions.
Those of us who have responded to the TV advertising on all channels to "go digital" by means of the Freeview Digibox are in a similar dilemma in the York area.
Digital television gives us excellent picture quality and extra channels such as BBC3, BBC4, ITV2 and many more. But in the York area this can only be achieved by having an aerial up-grade which has to be directed to the Bilsdale transmitter, which will only transmit Tyne Tees-based programmes.
Because we are being told that the analogue signal is to be switched off in the not-too-distant future, are we to be permanently excluded from Yorkshire Television if we choose not to subscribe to Sky?
