IT is almost impossible to think of Eva Cassidy, who died in 1996 aged just 33, without contemplating what might have been.
A posthumous screening of her performing Somewhere Over The Rainbow on TOTP2 turned her 1998 album Songbird into a bestseller, and subsequent releases sold millions too.
This CD is being marketed as the companion piece to Songbird. It features 11 tracks, all from Eva's other albums, with the only new material being a different backing on the folk ballad Waly Waly. So, for true fans, there is nothing really new here.
But for those who have only Songbird, it's a worthwhile investment, not least for the beautiful singing on the briefest of tracks, Anniversary Song.
