FORMER Cheltenham Town striker Paul Brayson has left York City but fellow forward Jonny Rowan has had his trial extended.
Rowan, released by Grimsby at the end of last season, has been told he could land a short-term deal at Bootham Crescent and Minstermen manager Chris Brass is also hoping to sign trialist goalkeeper Paul Crichton.
Brass said: "Unfortunately, we have had to let Paul Brayson go. Jonny Rowan has impressed but we need to see it on a more consistent basis with a view to a short-term deal. We will monitor him for the next couple of days.
"I will have talks with Paul Crichton today and see if we can do something and I'll be happy if we can."
Brass has named 14 players with Football League experience for tonight's friendlies at Melbourne against the host club and Wilberfoss (7pm).
New signings Shaun Smith, Steve Davis, Andy Bishop, Kevin Donovan and Gary Pearson will all be in attendance.
City squad: Porter, Davies, Smith, Donovan, Ashcroft, Coad, Nogan, Yalcin, Davis, Bishop, Savic, Pearson, Brass, Kamara, Haw, Baynes, Stockdale.
