WHAT a good article was Stephen Lewis's "Is Godfrey game for a gaffe?" (July 27).It is about time we had a politician who is not afraid to tell it how it is.
Just imagine a group of politicians similar to Dennis Skinner or Tony Benn who are not looking for jobs in government but are prepared to tell you their views whether you like it or not. If this is the start of a political change which will result in the public being informed about what is going on, then I'm all for it.
So many times when a story has broken, the minister, department or the council hasn't got anyone available to comment.
These are the people drawing a wage from the community and should answer the questions we want answering.
Mr Bloom has been there to answer the media and been constant.
He said: "If you don't want to hear what I've got to say, don't ask" and "If people hate me "I don't give a s***".
Well said Mr Bloom. Keep it up.
