THERE is not a lot between top and bottom in division four.
Leaders Acomb hit 153-3 against bottom club Heworth, Dave Skilbeck making 40.
Heworth were then 123-3 with Andrew Thrall on 40 before Pete Mitchell took 4-3 to leave the last two batsmen at the crease with four runs required. They got three of them before Ade Harris claimed the last man to leave the match tied.
Nick Salisbury's 61no took Malton and Old Malton to 148-7 against Bishopthorpe. Paul Mizon took 4-30 for Bishopthorpe, who, despite the loss of three late wickets, ran out comfortable winners with captain Andy Copeland top scoring with 39.
Huntington overcame Burn by 84 runs. Simon Kale top scored for Huntington with 40 in their 150-6. Ian Lenny and Nick Lamour shared eight wickets.
Mike Howden (41) and Gregg Nesbitt (70) put on 112 for Melbourne's first wicket against Pocklington. But it was all downhill from there as all ten wickets fell for just 36 runs. Mal Harrison (4-48) and John Murray (5-47) did the damage. Andy Walker's 56 laid the foundation for an eight-wicket win.
Openers Mick Cowling (55) and Trevor Hardy (66) put on 119 for Tadcaster Magnets against Selby, helping their team reach 169-6. All six wickets fell to Gary Pearce (6-53). Despite 53 from Steve Cruise, Selby fell six runs shy.
