ON-LOAN Leigh Centurions centre Dale Cardoza has been released by the York City Knights after failing to fire on all cylinders.
The 24-year-old was taken on loan at the beginning of the month until the end of the season.
But after failing to make an impact on the side who have slipped into an uncomfortable losing streak, the club have decided to let him go.
"We have released him," said head coach Richard Agar. "We brought him in to the club in the hope that he would add something to our backs but, by Dale's own admission, and as seen on the field in his performance, he is desperately low in confidence at the moment.
"Unfortunately with the way things are, we don't have the luxury of being able to wait for that confidence to return so we have taken the decision to cut his loan spell short."
Cardoza had been given his chance to impress with appearances in all three matches since his arrival with a substitute performance at Workington Town and two starts against Hunslet Hawks and Sheffield Eagles. But he failed to score and at times struggled to get involved.
