COULD York's much-hated evening parking charges be on the way out?
It is too soon for celebrations yet, but council leader Steve Galloway is now saying that the charges will be assessed in November.
Perhaps this could be a first hopeful indication that the unpopular charges could be scrapped. If so, it would be good to report signs of sense in the Lib-Dem council.
For all the businesses in the city which feel they are suffering due to the charges, a change of heart couldn't come a day too soon.
