FEW changes will be made ahead of tomorrow's pre-season friendly against Sheffield Wednesday after York City player-manager Chris Brass admitted things were "not a million miles away".

City will field a very similar squad to that which lost heavily to Middlesbrough on Wednesday night.

Striker Paul Robinson will be hoping to make an appearance after sitting out the 6-1 defeat with a thigh niggle, while goalkeeper Paul Crichton should also take the field after Chris Porter and Craig Mawson served as custodians on Wednesday.

But midfielder Kevin Donovan is expected to be given more time to recover from a minor problem with Brass reluctant to risk further damage.

Brass said: "The squad will be very similar to the one that played the other night because we're not a million miles away now.

"But hopefully, Paul Robinson will be back after his minor injury and Paul Crichton will also be involved.

"There is also a possibility that Paul Dunn will have a run-out as long as he can get the time off work."

Defender Dunn, who works for Newcastle United's football in the community department, showed his potential in the opening friendly against Doncaster Rovers and Brass is keen to get another look.

Out of the equation though are defender Richard Teesdale and former Scarborough winger Tommy Raw, both of whose trials have come to an end.

Former Crewe captain Shaun Smith is not available to play but the Minstermen are still hoping to sign the experienced left back, who impressed in Wednesday night's home defeat against Middlesbrough.

New Sheffield Wednesday striker Lee Peacock is set to make his debut at Bootham Crescent tomorrow as part of a strong Owls line-up.

Peacock signed form Bristol City earlier this summer but has yet to run out in Wednesday colours having been forced to sit out the pre-season Copa de Ibiza tournament with a slight knock sustained in last season's play-offs.

His new team-mates reached the final of the sun-soaked cup competition, where they were beaten by Watford on penalties.

But Peacock will get his chance tomorrow if boss Chris Turner heeds his promise to play him against the Minstermen.

He will be surrounded by a quality team including some of the club's ten summer signings such as former Southampton midfielder Chris Marsden and forwards Adam Proudlock and Steve MacLean.

Former York City trialist Jon Shaw could also get a run-out after hitting a hat-trick against Conference North-side Barrow in a 9-0 thrashing, despite having an under strength team. Last season's player of the year Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu will be on the bench.

Wednesday will be up for another pre-season success to line them up for their three home friendlies against Premiership sides coming up.

City squad: Chris Porter, Paul Crichton, Craig Mawson, Graeme Law, Chris Brass, Chris Clarke, Steve Davis, Sean Davies, Paul Dunn, Mark Robertson, Paul Groves, Darren Dunning, Gary Pearson, Matthew Coad, Paul Brayson, Dave Merris, Andy Bishop, Paul Robinson, Lee Nogan, Jonny Rowan, Lev Yalcin.

Sheffield Wednesday from: David Lucas, Lee Bullen, Graeme Lee, Patrick Collins, Guy Branston, Paul Heckingbottom, John-Paul McGovern, Glenn Whelan, Chris Marsden, Chris Brunt, Steve MacLean, Adam Proudlock, Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu, Ola Tidman, Jon Shaw, Lewis McMahon, Matt Hamshaw, Richard Wood.

City will field an under-19 team for a friendly at Easingwold tonight.

The game has been arranged to help the home club raise money to create three new pitches and admission in £1 on the gate.

Kick off is 6.30pm with a junior game taking place 45 minutes earlier.
