NEW striker Andy Bishop has earned a glowing reference from York City player-manager Chris Brass.
Despite the 6-1 defeat at the hands of Middlesbrough at Bootham Crescent on Wednesday night, Brass took heart from the number of chances his side created and the first-half performance of 21-year-old former Walsall forward Bishop.
The City boss said: "In the first 15 minutes before any of the goals went in I thought Bish looked the player on the pitch most likely to get something out of the game. He's a very positive lad with a fantastic work-rate.
"He does well in the air, holds the ball up well, can make a challenge, has a lot of pace and is not frightened to have a shot. I am sure he will have a good season."
