OSCAR-WINNING composer James (Titanic, Aliens and Braveheart) Horner goes for a big sound in his music for the latest sandal-epic Troy, starring Brad Pitt as Achilles.
Martial macho beats abound in the piece entitled Achilles Leads The Myrmidons plus those depicting Hector's death, the wooden horse and the sacking of Troy.
But there is tenderness too, particularly in Briseis And Achilles. The ethnic voice solos by Tanja sound as old as time itself. She is ably supported by members of the Bulgarian Women's Choir.
Opera star Josh Groban chimes in to sing, with Tzarovska, the end-theme song entitled Remember. Those who liked the film will, no doubt, enjoy this CD. The music will remind them of the movie's magnificent set-pieces.
